‘The Cosmic Slumber Tarot Colouring Book’ by Tillie Walden, Liminal 11 2020. For this project I was tasked with the lead design of the book from cover to cover. It was an incredibly enjoyable project that got me to work with one of my favourite artists, a dream!
For the cover this involved producing cover concepts, using assets from the illustrator to create patterns as well as contributing my own and assembling the final cover in InDesign ready to print. I also laid out all the interiors and created a custom font from the artist’s handwriting as well as making bespoke hand-drawn elements such as illustrated borders, header illustrations and arranging the artist’s work with my own to look like a seamless and immersive spread. Tillie’s work is very atmospheric and I wanted each spread to feel like you were drawn into the world of the card. I also created endpapers and french flaps using her artwork.
