The Folio Society Kitagawa Utamaro: Studies From Nature 2019.
A limited edition Japanese woodblock print facsimile. For this project I helped design the binding for one of the volumes so it was suitable for print, using the original book as a reference. I then used this and created a pattern for the inside of the slipcase box that it will be presented in. This project also required artwork to be created for blind blocking (heat impression printing) to replicate the original wood block print’s embossing. Using a mix of hand drawn techniques, Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, I created artwork from the originals and exported them as PDF files for print.
